Description
A wonderful circa 1810 Italian school oil-on-canvas painting of an artist or painter in his studio seated legs-crossed in a chair facing the canvas on easel with palette and brush in hands, a female attendant, presumably his wife or model, props herself with arms folded on the back of his chair, the draped studio with the 'Apollo Belvedere' on fluted column pedestal at left, and other neoclassical sculptures and urns on draped table at right, presented in a fine cove molded giltwood frame with beaded inner border by The Rowley Gallery, London. Canvas measures 14" x 18.25".
