Oil on canvas. 18 ¼” x 24”, 23” x 29” (frame).
Over-all in excellent condition, housed in a wonderful ripple-carved gilt period frame.
Provenance: Private Collection; Jeffrey Tillou Antiques, 1997.
This wonderful folky landscape depicting cows in front of a waterfall is highlighted with the luminosity of sky and the rich green color of the trees and grass. Most likely painted by an itinerant artist, the work is desirable among folk art collectors.
