Offered for sale is an oil painting on board by Spanish/Puerto Rican artist Angel Botello (June 20, 1913 – November 11, 1986). The work is presenred a hand carved frame by Teofilo Batista and is signed in the lower right. Art, 11.5"W by 14"H.
Ángel Botello was a Spanish-Puerto Rican painter, sculptor and graphic artist and is considered one of the greatest Latin American post-modern artists. Botello never attached to any particular artistic school or movement as he developed his own artistic style. He was a versatile many-sided artist who worked in many artistic medias: oil paintings, drawing, printmaking, bronze sculptures, wood carving, photography and mosaics.
