Description
Original acrylic on wooden panel by the well known American folk art artist, Black Joe Jackson. Circa 1985. Condition is excellent. Titled along the right side and titled along the left side of the artwork. The artwork is framed a contemporary wood grained frame in whitewash finish. Overall framed measurements are 15.5 by 15.25 inches. Provenance: A Sarasota, Florida collector.
Black Joe Jackson (American, 1922-1997) was a self taught African American Folk Artist. Born near Atlanta, GA in 1920 to a poor share-cropper family, Jackson painted on board and used other available materials including house paint to create his art. Jackson was born dyslexic as evidenced by his lettering. -
