Charles Blondin (French 1913-1991)
A "School of Paris" artist during the mid-20th century, Charles Blondin became known for his Paris street scenes. In an impressionistic style, Blondin worked with warm, colorful palettes that capture the life and light of French summers. His work appears all across the world in galleries and collections.
Charles Blondin was a French impressionist painter and print maker known for his depictions of Paris during different seasons. Born in 1913 in France his most active period dates from c. 1928 to the 1950s. He died in 1991.
The Paris Etching Society and the Camilla Lucas Gallery published a colorful series of color etchings by Blondin of iconic views of Paris. His birth name is unknown as he took the name of Charles Blondin the famous tight rope walker from the 19th century. Source:
