Description
Size: Unframed: 15 5/8” high x 12 ¼” wide (40 x 31 cm)
Framed: 24 ¼” high x 21 ½” wide (62 x 56 cm)
Edouard Charlemont was a Viennese painter of genre scenes and portraits. He studied in the Academy of Vienna under the direction of Professor Engerth. He then traveled to Italy, Germany and France. In 1888, he was made an Honorary Member of the Academy of Vienna. He exhibited in Paris and received an honorable mention in 1878 and a third class medal in 1885. He won a bronze medal at the Exposition Universelle in 1900. - More Information
