An intricate and very detailed oil on panel copy of the original de Heem still life.
De Heem was a still life painter who was active in Utrecht and Antwerp. He is a major representative of that genre in both Dutch and Flemish Baroque painting.

We are pleased to sell works on behalf of Jonathan Adams. Jonathan has been producing museum standard hand painted copies of fine oil paintings since the mid 1980s. All the materials he uses,canvas or panel, mediums, paint, stretchers and frames are of the finest quality and there are no short cuts or artificial processes used.

By 1990 he was exhibiting copies at a prestigious gallery in Dover St, London, with Susy Ray, then one of Britain's foremost copyists. He copies, among others, Rembrandt, de Heem and George Stubbs.
