Description
Paul Jenkins watercolor titled "Phenomena Bordering Orion" from 1981.
Signed Paul Jenkins on the lower right corner with a gallery label on the reverse with the title date and dimensions.
Orion as a celestial phenomena plays a significant role in the belief structure of Mayan and Aztec society along with societies such as the Chicoans and others within the Anasazi Southwest. Perhaps this painting's strong coloration and ephemeral structures call upon those associations.
The artwork measures 43 x 31" and is archivally mounted in a 49 x 37" frame. -
