Large Purvis Young Abstract Outsider Folk Art Painting on Board

Offered for sale is a large original Purvis Young (1943-2010) abstract painting in board. The artist is known for his outsider art painted on found objects. This work is painted on a piece of door skin that had been discarded. The subject matter shown is of 2 Purvis' face figures probably over buildings in Miami's Overtown where he lived and created his art. This is a great piece done in bold hues. It has never been hung. It has minor wear with one scuff to the paint in the upper left corner. It is signed "Young" in the upper right.
