A happy day in the little English seaside town of Marazion, in Cornwall. This painting has Stafford's characters seeming to jump for joy at the mere prospect of what the day holds in store. There is a sense that the people in this painting are the year round inhabitants of the town and that they occupy a real place in the way the artist has portrayed them.
