Fabulous oil on canvas painting by the British artist, William Livingstone Anderson. Signed lower right and dated 1886. The painting is its original elaborate gold leaf over gesso frame in fine original condition. Condition is very good. Anderson was born in 1856 and died in 1893. He is known for his landscape paintings. This painting depicts a bucolic scene with two figures standing on an old stone bridge with a figure fishing below. Original, unlined canvas with no restorations. Condition is very good. Overall framed measurements are 37.5 by 46 inches. Provenance: Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania estate.
