    Framed in period gilt composition frames with acid free backing.

    Antoine Charles Horace Vernet more commonly known as Carle Vernet was born in Bordeaux in the second half of the 18th century. he was the youngest child of Claude Joseph Vernet the great French painter who was commissioned to paint the French ports by Louis XV. care Vernet is know for his drawings of horses and a series of paintings depicting the battles of Napoleon Bonaparte
