This stunning Mid Century Modern Color Woodcut, entitled "Le Soleil Recercle", was realized by the legendary French/German Surrealist artist Jean Arp circa 1950. From a small edition of 50, the piece offers the vibrant palate and dynamic forms that discerning collectors of Arp's work cherish. The composition presents three circular forms against a dove gray background. In the center there is a flaxen yellow sphere with an amorphic, embryonic form against a sky blue background with a white and black dot below. With its clean modernist lines and refined color palate, this piece would be a winning addition to any style of interior from classic Mid Century Modern to contemporary. The piece comes in a custom Illuminated Ebonized Gallery Frame. It is signed Jean Arp and numbered 26/50. The piece is in excellent vintage condition.
