Pair of Art Deco Walnut Armchairs in Eucalyptus Mohair Velvet w/ Nickel Sabots

This elegant Pair of Art Deco Curved Walnut Armchairs in Eucalyptus Velvet w/ polished Nickel Sabots originated in the United States, circa 1935. Each chair has a sweeping walnut frame with continuous curved arms that wrap the sides and sweep into a shallow tapered leg. The warm medium brown walnut finish emphasizes the grain and the sinuous silhouette of the frames. Newly upholstered in eucalyptus green velvet mohair covers generous seats and separate back cushions and presents crisp lines where the fabric meets the inner wood rail. Small nickel sabots cap the feet and provide a refined metallic accent to the composition. The upholstery reads as both plush and tailored, with precise joins that reinforce the chairs' architectural presence. The broad seats and low backs create a welcoming silhouette that adapts comfortably to contemporary interiors. The mohair velvet offers a subtle lustre that enlivens the eucalyptus tone under varied light. Proportions and the interplay of polished walnut, luxuriant textiles, and nickel detailing anchor the pair within 1930s American design vocabulary. These chairs are in mint restored condition.
