Description
Original nickel plated over brass abstract untitled sculpture by Oded Halahmy. Signed and dated 1976. Condition is excellent. The sculpture is mounted on a thick mahogany base. Provenance: A Long Island, New York estate.
Biography:Oded Halahmy (b. 1938)
Oded Halahmy was born in Bagdad, Iraq. At the age of 13 he moved to Israel. He studied art in England before moving to Canada where he taught at the Ontario College of Art from 1969-1970. He moved to New York City in 1971 and has lived and worked there since. Halahmy’s sculptures are part of several important collections, including the Guggenheim, New York, the Hirshhorn Museum in Washington, D.C., and the Israel Museum in Jerusalem, as well as other public and private collections worldwide. - More Information
