This is one of many cartoons by Gahan Wilson where the subject morphs into the identity of his work. "Wish Not to Be Disturbed for the Duration of Winter - Playboy Cartoon from 1960 is a similar concept and is also for sale.
"A Meat Man at Work is perhaps a spec work or for an unknown publication It is unsigned and framed under plexiglass . 5 1/2 x 9 1/2 inches (image) on 11 x 8 1/2-inch sheet with overlay, framed to 13 x 10 1/2 inches. Title is from inscription in pencil on tracing paper overlay. It is attached on verso. -
