Description
Where most political parties focus on free-market capitalism, individual liberty, supervised government footprint. environmentalism, social justice, and civil rights. Gahan Wilson's Political Party (The Happy Face Party) apparently focuses on being, as its namesake logo suggests, happy. Throughout civilization, the great political, religious, and corporate logos have ingrained their simple visuals into mass consciousness, making them immediately identifiable while projecting inspiring and commercial messages. It's fair to say that the Happy Face (designed by Harvey Ball in 1963) will stand its ground with the very best of them. Who knows, by repurposing the pop culture icon, Gahan Wilson's appeal to civility may have more to it than a simple cartoon chuckle. The gaggle of microphones on the podium is a tip-off that the speaker is a politician.
