This artwork appeared on page 68 of the August 1970 issue of Playboy Magazine, illustrating the fiction story by Mary McCarthy titled "A Small Death in the Rue de Rennes," with the caption "He was an American in Paris, a guest of France, but when he saw students being beaten by the flies, he had to get involved."
