19th Century Campaign Chest With Writing Slide
-
Description
This is an unusual form of 19th century mahogany Campaign chest with writing slide and document section incorporated into the second drawer. The chest is fabricated to the highest standards with cockbeaded drawers and top quality brass fittings. The two-part case is in excellent original condition considering its intended use; the cerulean blue leather of the writing slide shows minimal wear and bright color. As is common in campaign chests of this age, the bulbous feet are appropriate replacements. The surface appears to be original.
