Description
19th Century Provincial Sideboard. Spectacular Country Sideboard, antique Chinese Sideboard from the countryside of Shanxi province. The old growth Elm wood has a flowing grain prevalent with warm brown tones bringing the beauty and depth of the wood to the surface. Hand rubbed lacquer finish has captured the charm of patina revealing its age somewhat elegantly with a sophisticated country appearance. This piece would flatter many different décors and settings. Panel doors with curtain aprons to the drawer fronts add subtle details inline with the overall natural sensibility of this stunning sideboard. Inside the lower cabinet spaces there is a false bottom, meaning that you storage compartments are under the shelf. Excellent storage and serving capacity. In very good condition, strong, sturdy and solid, circa 1830-1840.
