Description
Italian vintage enfilade made by Ico Parisi for the furniture editor MIM Roma in the 60s. A functional low cabinet with sliding doors and four drawers on the front, whose bi-material finish, in rosewood and aluminum veneer, gives it character and originality.
Designer: Ico Parisi (1916 – 1996)
A native of Palermo, Domenico Parisi studied design and architecture in Come in the early 1930s. He collaborated with the rationalist architect Guiseppe Terragni and became one of the founders of Alta Quota and Gruppo Como, two Italian architectural groups. In the late 1930s, Ico – from his nickname – made several films that would influence the design of his future productions. In 1945, he organized a long series of exhibitions of contemporary design in Come, and a few years later he founded the studio La Ruota with his wife, a former student of Gio Ponti. During his impressive career, the Italian designer collaborated with the biggest publishing houses, including Cassina, M.I.M., Singer & Sons, Altamira, Longhi and Cappellini. -
