Description
Suspension lamp with two diffusers made of brass, painted metal, and opaline glass, produced by Arredoluce and designed by Angelo Lelii in 1957.
Simple and geometric, this pendant lamp designed by Angelo Lelii in 1957 captures the style of the era. It embodies an aesthetic tension between curved lines and sharp angles, a characteristic that permeates various aspects of decoration, from furniture to architecture, resulting in diverse outcomes. Among the most successful are those achieved by Angelo Lelii, who, through Arredoluce, created a distinctive and instantly recognizable brand.
The rational design of this suspension lamp, featuring brass supports, pairs two opaline glass shades of identical dimensions but positioned at different heights. The quality of the glass is best appreciated when the lamp is lit, revealing the pleasantly diffused light on the matte surface of the shades.
A simple cable winding system, concealed within the brass supports, allows the lamp's length to be adjusted to suit ceiling height or personal preference. The original colors chosen for the painted metal parts reflect the period's trend of breaking the monotony of repeated forms with contrasting hues.
In excellent overall condition, with no reported breaks or defects in the glass.
