Description
This rare five-arm chandelier was produced by ASEA Belysning in Sweden in the 1950s. The lamp offers an elegant and striking example of Swedish Modern lighting.
The brass design features a tubular stem with a solid teak wood hourglass-shaped element. The five curved arms are attached to the central crown, which has a decorative sphere-shaped finial below. The brass shade holders have perforations near the rim. A bell-shaped canopy completes the design.
The tapered lampshades have been renewed in a pale cream silk fabric by Colefax and Fowler. The shades provide soft, even light distribution, with the refined silk texture becoming more visible when the lamp is lit.
The lamp is in very good condition, the brass with a natural patina, and the shades have been renewed.
The lamp uses standard E26/E27 bulbs and will include E27-to-G9 LED bulb adapters for optimal fit and lighting (smaller G9 bulbs are required for the shades to fit properly). -
