Description
This exquisite hand-blown Murano glass chandelier, crafted by the famed Barovier & Toso in Italy around 1950, exemplifies mid-century modernist elegance through a stunning display of floral-inspired artistry. Composed of an array of delicate florets, the chandelier features a harmonious interplay of transparent and soft rose-hued glass elements meticulously arranged to evoke a sense of natural grace.
Suspended from brass fittings that add warmth and a touch of mid-century refinement, the chandelier seamlessly melds traditional Murano glassmaking techniques with an fresh and modern aesthetic. The polished brass accents provide an understated yet luxurious complement to the intricately formed glass florets, creating a balance between opulence and restraint that is a hallmark of 1950s Italian design. The transparent glass elements amplify the warm glow of the chandelier when illuminated, while the rose-hued florets introduce a soft, romantic warmth that enhances its atmospheric presence.
Perfect for adding an air of elegant sophistication to a dining room, entryway, or curated interior space, this piece serves as much more than a lighting fixture. It stands as an extraordinary example of mid-century Italian craftsmanship, encapsulating the enduring artistry of Barovier & Toso and the cultural significance of Murano glass during its height of innovation. This fixture has a height that can be adjusted to suit, newly rewired to American Standards and accommodates two candelabra base bulbs achieving up to 120 watts of light.
