Model "G-014" Floor Lamp by Bergboms, Sweden Second Half of the 20th Century

Bergboms, also called Bergbom & Co AB, was a modernist Swedish lighting manufacturer established in 1940. The firm was prominent in Swedish design and active in the postwar period. Bergboms created a variety of sleek, elegant pieces for both the Swedish market and for other designers, such as Bernard Schottlander and Greta Magnusson-Grossman.

This elegant “G-014” floor lamp was produced by Bergboms in Sweden during the second half of the 20th century. As such, it reflects the brilliant Swedish design of the era. The beauty of Scandinavian design is found in its simplicity, functionality and warmth. This piece, while classic in its form, stands out through the use of brass - the ultimate material of the mid-20th century when it comes to lighting fixtures. The round base connects to a straight, sleek stem, traveling up to a shallow drum shade that rests on the lamp. The shade itself introduces another element of subtle charm, being closed at the top. This feature allows it to better diffuse the light, ensuring cosy ambient atmosphere. When taking a step back, one can truly appreciate the bright, eye-catching brass, shining through both whether the lamp is turned on or off. Condition:
In good vintage condition. Wear consistent with age and use. The floor lamp has recently been rewired and reconditioned. The shade was custom made by our in-house atelier. The brass is patinated. There are minor dents and scratches on the metal. Due to the age and nature of the brass, the item may have marks, and discolouration. This lamp is compatible with an E26 / E27 standard fitting. All lighting can be converted for US usage.
