Boréns Model "B7216" Brass Floor Lamp with Unique Lampshade, Sweden 1950s

This model B7216 floor lamp's organic fabric shade is reminiscent of a hot air balloon. The shape has many advantages, as a spherical shape is the most efficient volume to surface ratio. The light fabric is delicate enough to let the boning show, especially when the light is turned on. The shade diffuses the light evenly, and thanks to the brass joints, the shade can be freely adjusted on the vertical axis and be focused. The organically shaped shade is contrasted by black lacquered metal structure with its brass details. This trio of materials is brilliant - the polished brass quite literally - accentuating each other successfully. The subtle elements showcase Boréns’s attention to the smallest detail, such as the brass ring on the circular base, and the shade’s adjusting mechanism. The Swedish company, Boréns manufactured this lamp with outmost care for its quality.
