Brass Geometric Pendant Lights, Europe - Late 1980s

$ 5,000
  • Description
    Produced in Europe during the late 1980s, these striking geometric pendant lights exemplifies the architectural experimentation that characterised postmodern lighting design. Constructed from brass and perforated metal, each fixture is composed around an inverted pyramidal form intersected by opposing linear light sources, creating a carefully balanced composition of geometry, structure and illumination.

    The restrained material palette and exposed construction recall the work of several European manufacturers and independent design studios active during the period, particularly those exploring the intersection of architecture and industrial design. While no documented attribution has presently been established, the lamps bear stylistic affinities with the experimental lighting produced by smaller Italian and Belgian ateliers of the late twentieth century. Their sculptural presence, refined craftsmanship and uncommon configuration make them compelling examples of collectible postmodern European lighting.
