Description
Carl-Harry Stålhane (1920-1990) is one of the most renowned representatives of Swedish ceramic design of the 20th century, and is well-known as the artistic leader for Rörstrand in the 1960s. His name is synonymous with high ceramic quality, magnificent creative design and brilliant craftsmanship. This table lamp is an exceptional example of his talent.
The design of this lamp has a clear focus on the ceramic body. The unique ceramic base features a beautiful blue glaze, a clear artistic touch by Stålhane. The body features gently rounded edges, providing the perfect support for the fabric shade. With a combination of interesting material choices and design, this lamp has an innovative, modern look that is just as much a work of art as it is a utilitarian piece.
The body narrows towards the top like a bottle, creating the traditional look. The lampshade’s drum shape contributes to this look as well, while balancing out the ceramic body. The fabric of the shade is quite textural with an elegant and stylish look that stands out even more when the lamp is lit.
