"Fish Dad" Ceramic Lamp by Cassie Nozil, 2026

A one-of-a-kind ceramic table lamp by Brooklyn based sculptor Cassie Nozil, whose work walks the line between playful observation and quiet social critique. Hand-sculpted and finished in a soft, creamy glaze, the faceted form becomes a narrative object - each side is illustrated in loose blue linework telling a common tale: the husband chills, the kids play, while the wife works. Best of all, they are fish. It’s funny, a little pointed, and very human. Nozil has a talent for distilling everyday dynamics into something charming but not entirely innocent.

The lamp itself is beautifully considered: a sculptural, tapering base paired with a crisp pleated shade of blue that feels both classic and slightly offbeat (in the best way).

Her practice is a hybrid method at the intersection of handcraft and machines; she hand sculpts in clay and utilizes 3D printing to build final works that materialize complex relationships between, material tension and human experience.
