Rare Italian Mid-Century Table / Desk Lamp in style of Ettore Sottsass

$ 1,795
  • Description
    A Rare Italian Mid-Century Modern Table / Desk Lamp in style of Ettore Sottsass circa 1970. The piece is an early for-runner of post-modern work executed before the advent of Memphis Design. It combines a sober design form with the frame in gray steel while utilizing 2 plastic (perspex) reflectors, the lower one in white and the top round one in violet. These colors combined with its original yellow rubber electrical cord provide subtle drama while maintaining a pure modern form. The result is a captivating and functional work of art and design.

Message from Seller:

T. Thomas Gargiulo came from a dual background as a Ph.D. in Psychology with extensive training in Art History and Anthropology to form Thomas Gallery in downtown Manhattan in 1997 to balance intellectual with design pursuits. Since its inception the gallery has seen decorative arts as a vibrant representation of human culture of each age and as a portal to understanding it. P: 917.434.4032 E: thomasgalleryltd@gmail.com
