Description
By the 1950s, Finland had established itself as a force for innovation in design. The best qualities of Finnish light fixtures are their atmospheric shine and disciplined, functionalist design that is not short of unique decorative elements.
The design of this table lamp is straightforward, combining function and aesthetics. Practicality is one of the most important aspects of Finnish design, however, there was also a demand for the highest quality. The simple body of this lamp exudes sophistication through it’s sleekness. It’s minimalist look is defined by its construction, reflecting an aesthetic that emphasizes clean lines. Anchored by a teardrop-like base, a distinctive feature that ground the piece and offers it stability, while also allowing for the lamp to look light and airy, yet. Both the stem and the sturdy round base are crafted from brass, a quintessentially mid-century modern material.
