Description
With their origins in a small workshop and cellar in Aarhus in 1904, Fog & Mørup grew their reputation gradually, and by the 1930s was one of the most well-known manufacturers of Denmark. Nowadays sought after by collectors for their sleek and sculptural lamps, like their brass models, as they are a breath of fresh air and can introduce a touch of Scandinavian Modernist ingenuity into any space.
This stunning table lamp is attributed to the Danish manufacturer. This model combines a classical shape re-imagined with carefully thought out proportions. Crafted from brass, this piece stands as a beacon of the era’s design ethos, where tradition meets modernism. The brass, with its warm tone and perforated rim, exudes a sense of elemental authenticity that is emblematic of Danish design. The light, when turned on, casts a warm and inviting glow, creating an ambiance that is both timeless and comforting. The shade also has a traditional and historic appeal, evoking a sense of nostalgia, harking back to a previous era. In contrast, the sleek and contemporary body propels the lamp into the modern age, creating a harmonious blend of past and present. Overall, the warm, golden hue, complemented by the timeless design, allows the lamp to seamlessly integrate into a variety of interior styles. While certain lighting fixture designs go in and out of style, some lamps remain forever stylish. This “B120” model is one such design thanks to its timeless aesthetic and quality.
With its focus on quality, innovation, and timeless design, Fog & Mørup has consistently demonstrated its ability to create products that are both timeless and contemporary. Besides its innovative design, this floor lamp is also perfect for task lighting, or as an accent piece.
