French Celadon Pâte-sur-pâte Porcelain Lamps with Custom Shantung Silk Shades

Offered for sale is a pair of French celadon pâte-sur-pâte porcelain celadon lamps with custom shantung silk shades. Wired and in good working condition. Height to socket 23 1/2". The shades measure 10" H, 13 1/" Diameter on top, 14" Diameter on bottom.

French Pâte-sur-pâte porcelain decoration technique is a late 19th-century technique where layers of liquid clay are brushed onto an unfired body to create a delicate, translucent relief. Celadon green is a particularly sought-after ground color for these lamps, often featuring white floral or Neoclassical motifs. The lamps are embellished with ormolu details in an urn form.
