A Rare Pair of Italian Mid-Century Modern table lamps in brass and Roman Travertine attributed to Gabriella Crespi (1922 - 2017) circa 1970. Gabriella Crespi was one of the most important Italian artists during the 2nd half of the 20th Century. Her work permeates the balance between design and sculptural abstraction. In these sculptural lamps, the artist balances diverse materials: brass and travertine with the aim of treating nature symbolically while bringing earth and sun together in balance. The reflective brass shade representing the sun and the travertine stem and base representing the earth.

T. Thomas Gargiulo came from a dual background as a Ph.D. in Psychology with extensive training in Art History and Anthropology to form Thomas Gallery in downtown Manhattan in 1997 to balance intellectual with design pursuits. Since its inception the gallery has seen decorative arts as a vibrant representation of human culture of each age and as a portal to understanding it. P: 917.434.4032 E: thomasgalleryltd@gmail.com
