Greta M. Grossman "Cobra" Table Lamp for Ralph O. Smith
-
Description
The “Cobra” table lamp designed by Greta M. Grossman for Ralph O. Smith in the United States in 1948. A true icon of Mid-Century modern lighting design and winner of the MoMA Good Design award in 1950, this sophisticated table lamp features an enameled aluminum shade and base in a soft muddy brown hue that is connected by a tubular chrome steel arm that bends for directional light. This model gets its name from the elegant shape of the shade which resembles the lines of a cobra. This collectible vintage lamp shows wear from age and use but functions perfectly and maintains all original components.
