Description
A pair of Hans-Agne Jakobsson wall lamps / scones model V 147, combining smoked glass with a perforated brass inner shade that diffuses the light into a warm, textured glow. This double-layered construction is one of Jakobsson’s signature techniques, softening the bulb while creating a gentle shimmer through the brass mesh. The result is a light that feels intimate, atmospheric and unmistakably Scandinavian.
These examples show heavier patina to the brass and some staining to the glass that will not wash away. The ageing gives them a moodier, more characterful presence — the kind of surface wear that speaks to decades of use and adds depth rather than detracting from their charm. When lit, the imperfections recede and the lamps deliver the cosy, amber-toned light Jakobsson is known for.
The V147 works beautifully in bedrooms, hallways, stair landings or as accent lights in living spaces. Their clean cylindrical form blends easily into both mid-century and contemporary interiors, and as a pair they bring a balanced, architectural rhythm to a wall. The smoked glass also makes them particularly effective for creating low, atmospheric lighting without glare.
The measurements are for one lamp. Both lamps carry the manufacturer's label with the name of the designer.
Hans-Agne Jakobsson remains one of Sweden’s most beloved lighting designers, celebrated for his ability to create light that feels warm, human and quietly poetic. This pair captures that sensibility perfectly — simple, functional and full of character, with the beautifully diffused glow that makes his work so enduringly sought after. -
