Description
This elegant Mid-Century Modern flush mount ceiling light by Idman, crafted in the 1950s, exudes timeless charm with its soft, diffused glow and beautifully balanced design. The round fixture features four bulbs nestled within an opaline plastic shade, delicately framed by brass wire detailing that adds a touch of refined sophistication. While no designer is specified in the catalogue, the aesthetics align with the graceful work of Gunnel Nyman, whose enduring influence led to many posthumous adaptations, including customizable shade variations on classic lamp bases. Stamped with the Idman mark, this piece reflects the quality and heritage of Finnish lighting design.
The lamp remains in very good vintage condition, with only minor wear consistent with its age, preserving its original character. Ideal for creating a calming and stylish atmosphere, this rare and collectible fixture would effortlessly enhance a dining room, bedroom, or entryway, blending organic Mid-Century form with enduring functionality. Fully functional and ready to install, it’s a perfect opportunity to own a piece of Scandinavian lighting history. -
