Description
This exceptionally rare table lamp was produced by Il Punto la Bottega in Italy in the 1970s. The lamp is marked with the manufacturer's tag attached to the cord.
The generously sized design is distinguished by the sculptural shape of the dome-shaped base in patinated brass. The umbrella-form shade in off-white fabric is segmented into soft vertical panels, creating a refined, architectural silhouette. The shade is crowned with a small rounded brass finial.
The lamp is in overall good and completely original condition. The brass has a natural and even patina. The fabric shade shows signs of wear, including small stains and slight discoloration. Currently with 220V wiring.
About the manufacturer:
Il Punto La Bottega was an Italian design studio active during the 1970s and 1980s, known for producing artistic lighting and objects that bridge craftsmanship and modern design. Working often in collaboration with designers such as Ruggero Giangiacomi and Franco Bucci, the studio created pieces distinguished by sculptural forms and a refined use of materials including brass, ceramic, and textile. -
