  • Description
Ingo Maurer Uchiwa II Rice Paper and Bamboo Wall Light
The Uchiwa II wall lamp by Ingo Maurer is an elegant example of 1970s design, with a structure that combines natural materials and modernity. The metal and bamboo are harmoniously combined, while the lacquered rice paper diffuser adds an oriental touch and softens the light. The shape is inspired by a Japanese fan (from which the name "Uchiwa" derives), creating a soft and diffused illumination. It is an iconic piece that blends functionality and art, typical of Maurer’s innovative design. Ingo Maurer and produced by M Design, Germany / Japan, 1970s. The structure on the back attaches to the wall in a very simple and direct way. Message from Seller:

Pavilion is the collective vision of Deborah Colman and Neil Kraus, both graduates of the master of fine arts program at the Art Institute of Chicago. From a longstanding interest in art and design, frequent buying trips to France and Italy have influenced the direction of the gallery to offer items that are not easily sourced in Chicago and United States. Postwar design has been the focus for 18 yrs and we also look forward to new design that crosses boundaries and dialogues as well to the past
