Description
An Elegant and Timeless French Mid-Century Modern Hand Stitched, Faux Bamboo, Brown Leather Floor Lamp by Jacques Adnet, France, circa 1955. This classic hand made model from the renowned French designer, Jacques Adnet is sought after as an icon of design and refined taste. It has a unique profile featuring a tripod base ending in a circular / ring form. The whole body is hand-stitched and each segment is separated by hand made brass rings to form a faux bamboo aesthetic. It is a sublime work in its rare form, its warm, inviting hand crafted leather and its dignified balance. Dimensions: H 69 x D 17" with shade shown; Base diameter: 11.5".
Jacques Adnet was one of the most important designers in France during the 1925 to 1970 periods. He achieved worldwide fame and his work embraced several movements including French Art Deco, Modernism and Neoclassicism. His pieces in hand-stitched leather are still sought after worldwide including the model shown here. Priced and Sold as a Pair.
