Mid-Century Modernist J.M.F. Floor Lamp in Tessellated Penshell by Karl Springer

This materially stunning and unique floor lamp originates from the United States circa 1980. Features a minimal square polished brass base from which a gorgeous geometric triangular body of the floor lamp rises with a half twist, fitted with the original shade fabricated with the same stunning tessellated Penshell surface as the body of the lamp. This piece utilizes minimal geometric forms with carefully considered details and beautifully balanced proportions, creating a dynamic balance between the sculptural and functional quality of the piece. Karl Springer is highly regarded and known for his unrivaled sense of scale and proportion, often utilizing fine and exotic materials in his works, which began as small scale hand-made objects and expanded into furniture design where he specialized for a majority of his career. This stunning J.M.F. Floor Lamp will style beautifully in a wide array of settings and spaces, from Mid-Century Modernist to Contemporary and Minimal Interiors. Newly rewired for American Standards, this piece is in Excellent Vintage Condition. Takes two Edison Based Light bulbs achieving up to 200 watts of light.
