Description
This pair of Mid-Century Modernist cylindrical sconces by Lightolier, crafted in the 1970s, represents the clean, minimalist design philosophy of the era. Combining form and function, these sconces make a bold yet understated architectural statement, making them perfect for both contemporary and vintage-inspired interiors.
Each sconce is constructed from brushed aluminum, giving the pieces a sleek, industrial aesthetic. The cylindrical form emphasizes simplicity and symmetry, with the brushed surface creating an appealing texture that diffuses light subtly while maintaining a modern, understated elegance. The sconces are designed to provide either uplighting or downlighting, enhancing the surrounding space with warm, indirect illumination. The emerge from articulating fittings that allow the user to direct and angle the light.
Designed by Lightolier, one of the premier American lighting manufacturers of the 20th century, these sconces highlight the company’s reputation for innovative designs that embody the essence of modernist style. Their neutral yet striking design makes them versatile, ideal for hallways, living spaces, bedrooms, or as accent lighting in any Mid-Century Modern, Brutalist, or industrial-chic space. Newly rewired to American Standards accommodating one Edison base bulb each achieving up to 100 watts of light. In Excellent Vintage Condition.
