Description
A beautiful Scandinavian Modern ceiling lamp model 1068 in brass, crystal and glass designed by Lisa Johansson-Papé and manufactured by Orno Oy in Finland in the 1940s-1950s. The lamp features crystals that hang like rain drops and are beautifully illuminated by the up-light from inside the glass shade. The lamp is imprinted with the manufacturer's stamp Orno and is in its original patina. All in all, the lamp looks really nice.
Lisa Johansson-Papé (1907-1989) was a Finnish designer best known for her works in lighting. She paid more attention to the function of the lamp firstly, then the design feature secondly. Lisa designed furniture for Stockmann for a number of years, after which she turned her attention to lamps, also at the Stockmann owned company Orno Oy. She won a number of medals for her lighting designs in the Milan Triennials in the 1950s -
