Description
An extremely rare model 50-084 wall sconce, designed by Lisa Johansson-Pape for Orno in the 1950s in Finland. This exact one is a more rare version of the model, which usually comes in painted metal. The perforations in the brass shade of this lamp create a beautiful display on the surrounding background (Please refer to video). The lamp is in great original patinated condition. This lamp suits any number of suuroundings, why not even children´s rooms.
Lisa Johansson-Papé (1907-1989) was a Finnish designer best known for her works in lighting. She paid more attention to the function of the lamp firstly, then the design feature secondly. Lisa designed furniture for Stockmann for a number of years, after which she turned her attention to lamps, also at the Stockmanmm owned company Orno Oy. She won a number of medals for her lighting designs in the Milan Triennials in the 1950s. -
