1950s Black Metal Cylindrical Jo Hammerborg Pendants for Louis Poulsen
Executed in black painted cylindrical metal with custom patinated brass canopy and thick black cloth cord, Denmark c. 1950s. Shades are painted white inside to cast a soft, diffuse glow.
Jo Hammerborg (1920-1982) was a Danish industrial designer and silversmith who is best known for his work in the field of lighting design. In the 1950s, Hammerborg began designing lighting fixtures for the Danish lighting manufacturer Fog & Mørup, where he worked as the company's chief designer for nearly two decades. Hammerborg's designs are characterized by their simple, minimalist forms and their use of high-quality materials, such as brass, copper, and stainless steel. Hammerborg is regarded as one of the most influential lighting designers of the mid-20th century.
Price is per item. 3 lamps available All in similar excellent vintage condition.
Wear consistent with age and use. Professionally rewired single ceramic e26 socket that can accommodate a max 100w equivalent LED bulb. LED only. Black cord can be cut to desired length. Max drop approximately 70 inches. Black metal canopy accommodates a U.S. junction box. Repainted inside and out to match original design. Not UL listed, but recommended UL listing available from authorized 3rd party vendor upon request for an additional fee. Please contact to facilitate. -
