Description
Monumental Poul Henningsen 'PH Louvre' Suspension Lamp for Louis Poulsen
Originally designed in1957, Poul Henningsen's geometrical, spherical design is based on the principle of illuminating all surfaces at the same angle. This ensures uniform light around the fixture, illuminating both walls and ceiling. Matte painted undersurfaces and glossy top surfaces result in an attractive reflection of the diffused light, creating uniform light distribution around the fixture.
Executed with 13 spun aluminum shades mounted on four supports and a high luster chrome plated extruded brass frame, the 'PH Louvre' pendant light emits comfortable glare, free diffused light. The shades have matte painted undersides and glossy top surfaces which result in attractive reflection, creating uniform light distribution around the fixture. When the light is switched on, the top portion is illuminated while the bottom part remains dark. Its impressive scale and clean geometric lines create a stunning focal point.
