Description | Vilhelm Lauritzen 3-shade brass & glass ring chandelier for Louis Poulsen. Executed in three hand blown glossy white opal glass and untreated polished brass tube and ceiling canopy. The chandelier emits light directed primarily downwards. The opal glass provides a comfortable and uniform illumination of the area around the fixture. A highly refined and iconic design by one of the Danish modern giants of the midcentury era. Price is per item. Available in 1, 3, 5 and 7 shade models and wall lamp variants in separate listings. Shade height 9.2 inches. Cord height can be adjusted down to desired drop length. These chandeliers were originally designed in the 1930s by Vilhelm Lauritzen in partnership with Louis Poulsen for the construction of the Radiohuset building on Frederiksberg, Copenhagen, which is now home to the Royal Danish Academy of Music. The original VL Ring Crown never appeared there, but not long after, a Ring Crown based on the original drawings was launched. In 1947, the designer Finn Juhl, who worked for Vilhelm Lauritzen, used the VL Ring Crown as part of the interior design for the Danish porcelain manufacturer Bing & Grøndahl in Copenhagen. True to its original materials and design, the VL Ring Crown was reintroduced in 2019. It’s made of untreated, polished brass and with three, five or seven shades in glossy white, triple-layered, handblown opal glass. It was complemented by the wall lamps and pendant originally installed in the Danish Broadcasting House. The VL Ring Crown family brings a distinct and authentic touch to stylish interiors as well as a warm light to softly illuminate contemporary living. UL listed. Canopy: White. Cord type: 3-conductor, 18 AWG white braided fabric covered power cord. Cord length: 12’. Shades: Handblown, triple-layered, polished opal glass. Suspension: Untreated brass, will patinate. In-stock lead time up to 2-3 weeks. Out of stock lead time up to 10-12 weeks. Shade height 9.2 inches. | ||||||||
