    1 Elegant and Iconic French Mid-Century Modern Neoclassical table or desk lamp in gilt bronze and brass in the form of an ear of corn by Maison Charles et Fils, Paris, circa 1940-1950. The lamp is outfitted with three lights. The piece is a historic symbol of France's resurgence after World War II and an exquisite art functional art work. Corn is a symbol of growth and the corn was used as a metaphor for France's World War II survival and post war resurgence. Engraved on base: Charles et Fils.
