Description
This Italian table lamp, produced by the renowned Mangani porcelain atelier, features an intricate sculptural column composed of multiple biscuit porcelain figures in classical attire. The figures are set within a rocky landscape motif, showcasing the high-relief "biscuit" technique that produces a matte, marble-like finish. The sculpture rests on a circular base finished in deep cobalt blue with a gilded wave pattern. The piece is topped with a simple burlap-textured textile shade that provides a neutral contrast to the highly detailed porcelain.
The Mangani family has been a hallmark of Florentine porcelain craftsmanship since the late 19th century. Known for their extraordinary attention to detail and mastery of traditional "biscuit" porcelain, the Mangani studio collaborated extensively with high-fashion houses and prestigious interior decorators throughout the 20th century to create bespoke decorative objects and lighting. -
