Description
This striking floor lamp was produced by Markslöjd in Kinna, Sweden, in the 1960s. The piece is marked with the Markslöjd label and model number on the underside of the base.
The design is characterized by a sculptural, organically shaped frame resting on a circular base made of solid stained beech wood. It features a brass and wood shade holder and bulb fitting. The coolie-shaped shade has been renewed with ivory-white, linen-textured fabric and can be adjusted into different positions. A striking example of Scandinavian Modern lighting.
The lamp is in very good condition, with a renewed shade. Currently with a 220V European plug and white floor pedal switch. -
